Past NewsAugust 16, 2007 - New tutorial up. It's a list of simple sculpting tips. August 14, 2007 - Well the art show was not the success that I wanted it to be. Please check out my blog entry for the full story. Huge thanks to everyone on the Shiflett Bros forum for helping cheer me up, it helped a lot. As you probably noticed I ditched the splash page. What I found looking at my page stats is that a certain percentage of visitors didn't click through from it. Also I added a few links to the Sculpting Resources page in Tutorials. August 9, 2007 - Only two more days until the art festival! I'm really excited. I also have a new sculpture ready. I really hope you like my Squid.
July 31, 2007 - Brand new sculpture a widdle baby turtle hatching out of it's shell. I've also got a new blog feed script that is up and running nicely. It is javascript so I'm very sorry to anyone with javascript disabled who cannot see it. You'll just have to take my word for it that my blog is interesting. July 17, 2007 - Okay some new additions, I have two new projects in Works in Progress, I have two new blog entries if you haven't read them yet, and I also modified the comment script now so it now asks for your website rather than email so enjoy the free links to your site (spam it however and I'll ban you from posting any more). The script that displays the feed from my blog seems to have broken so I've disabled it momentarily until I can either fix it or replace it with a new one. July 3, 2007 - Countdown to the Shy, Novice and Closeted Art Show! It's this Saturday July 7th at 18 High Street in Bethel, ME. That's just behind the Key Bank, next to the flower shop. Saturday is also the day for the big Art Show on the Commons at the top of Main Street. It'll be a festive fun day for all art lovers including activities for kids. Keep an eye on the Noadi's Art Blog for all the photos and stories about how it went. I'm also officially registered for the Moore Art - Festival in the Park, which will be on August 11th (12th is the rain date) from 9am-4pm in South Paris, Maine. I'm really excited about this one, it'll be my first outdoor art show with my own booth.
June 21, 2007 - I'll be participating in the 3rd Annual Shy Closeted and Novice Art Show which will be taking place on Saturday July 7th at 18 High Street in Bethel, ME. This is the same day as a larger art show on the commons so it'll be a great day for all art lovers. I'll be at the show pretty much all day if you'd like to chat. June 14, 2007 - Quick update today. I made some pendants which I decided to call Cthulhu's Gems (another suggestion was Davey Jones' Tears but as much as I love Pirates it would just feel like cashing in on the movie too much for me). I think they're cute in a really creepy way. June 7, 2007 - Going to give the whole blog thing another try, hopefully I'll do a better job this time of keeping it up to date. I also got a nice little script that displays links to my most recent blog posts on this page. June 3, 2007 - Some brand new progress shots of Odin's Runesong are up. He's getting closer and closer to finished now. May 29, 2007 - No new art today but some changes to the site. First I have a new addition to the Tutorials, it's not really a tutorial per se, it's a page of Online References for Sculptors that I hope will be useful. I played with the design of this page some and made it a bit prettier. I fixed a problem with the back buttons that were causing trouble for some IE users. Also since I've heard a few complaints about having a hard time finding my contact information (apparently the FAQ wasn't clear enough) so I've created a contact page, hopefully it clears up any confusion. May 25, 2007 - Lots of updates today. First of all, the Elements Gallery is opening in it's new location this weekend! If you are in the Bethel, ME area check it out on Walker's Mills Road by True North and see some of my artwork along with lots of other great work by other local artists. As you can see I've started putting some thumbnails next to news posts that includes new artwork. I also have more gargoyles done! So check them out in Misc. Art, and I'm also working on a few other jewelry designs so keep an eye out for those over the next couple weeks. May 19, 2007 - Couple new additions. First in Misc. Art I have new gargoyle pendants. Those are currently for sale in the Elements Gallery in Bethel, ME but if you would like me to make you one they are $25 plus shipping just contact me if you are interested. Second is a very very old sculpture of mine. I just found a ceramic sculpted bird whistle I made when I was 13 years old. Odin is also coming along, check out the WIPs for a photo of Yggdrasil painted. >
May 7, 2007- New sculpture is done, a little baby rat. No new photos of Odin yet, I came down with a really bad cold which makes airbrushing less than safe. Also the server is being switched so there may be a glitch or two. May 3, 2007- Created a Squidoo
Lens for Noadi's Art. Also I've started painting Odin's Runesong,
no photos yet but I'll probably have some this weekend. I'm also working
on some more Perma-Pets and a new series of Gargoyle Pendants that should
be up soon.
April 9, 2007- Odin's Runesong is coming along I have brand new progress photos in Works in Progress, please give it a look I'm always open to some critique. April 7, 2007- The Elements Gallery is now online, this is the gallery where I show my work locally. So check out the MySpace page for it and if you're in the Bethel, ME area please drop in. April 5, 2007- In case you haven't noticed I changed the navigation at the top of the page slightly, it now stretches to fit your browser window instead of just centering, I also added a button for my YouTube Channel. I also finally got around to starting a DeviantArt account to please give that a look. March 27, 2007- Okay so brand new video, this is a nice little walkthrough of the creation of my kelpie sculpture An tEach Uisce. Evolution of An tEach Uisce. Also I'll be adding a link to my YouTube Channel to the navigation probably tomorrow, it has not only my videos but playlists of videos from other artists (mostly sculptors) on YouTube that I find interesting as well. March 26, 2007- So I've made the leap into YouTube, I made a fun little slideshow video of my octopuppy. Mostly for practice since I want to use this format for documenting the process of my sculptures but it's really cute anyway. Octopuppy Video. Also the site was down for a while yesterday, I'm not sure why but hopefully whatever happened won't repeat itself. March 19, 2007- So I have a cute new self portrait photo of myself surrounded by some of my sculpts. In less egotistical news I have a whole bunch of Perma-Pets finished in Sculpture so check those out. I also am taking requests for custom Perma-Pets if you'd like one, they are $65 plus shipping (within the US only) just contact me and let me know what creature (octopuppy, cuddlefish, or nudibranch) and the colors you would like. The Perma-Pets who are currently finished are for sale at the Elements Gallery on Main St. in Bethel ME, it's a great gallery so check it out if you're in teh area. March 18, 2007- Continuing the process of adding more details to my art pages, all the sculpture and most of the traditional art pages are finished, even added information on pieces for sale. I've also started adding eye photos to my Eye Size Chart in Tutorials and more will be coming in the next few days. March 17, 2007- My series of little aquatic animals on jars like my octopuppy and cuddlefish are now called Perma-Pets. Big thanks to Jami for coming up with the name. Also I have a brand new animal inthe series, sea slugs! So check out the Works in Progress page for that. I'm going to be pouring resin for all of these probably today or tomorrow at the latest so I'll have photos of the finihsed versions early next week. March 11, 2007- Just finished a new tutorial, it's an article on inspiration, brainstorming and breaking artist's block. This is not the last word I'll have on this subject since artist's block is something that has plagued me in the past quite a bit. Actually I'm already working on a list of the things that inspire me that I plan on sharing. March 8, 2007- Just a tiny update, I revamped the flash into on the splash page adding new art and a few other little things. If you didn't come in through the index page, go check it out. March 7, 2007 PartII- Took down the newsletter for now, seems to be messing up so no one (including myself) can access any part of it. March 7, 2007- Started an RSS feed for the site. March 6, 2007- Updated the WIPs page again, new shots of Odin's Runesong, he's starting to come together and look more human. I also started a new page to archive past news rather than just deleting it when it gets old. I decided that since I'm updating the news so frequently lately that it's needed. March 3, 2007 - Updated the WIPs page, check out the newly painted Cuddlefish. March 1, 2007 Part II- Just joined ArtWanted.com it's a very large art community and directory of artists, so please check out my portfolio there. In case anyone is wondering why I'm not taking advantage of their selling options it's because require a very short period of time before a piece must be shipped. I live in a very rural area and can't guarantee I can get work out within 72 hours. The best I can guarantee is within a week. March 1, 2007- New Work in Progress up, the Cuddlefish. An extension of my octopuppies, these are little cuttlefish sculptures that will also be going in jars. February 24, 2007- And yet more changes. I scrapped the shop page, it just wasn't getting traffic, instead I now have a direct link from this page to my cafepress shop, check it out because I now have Octopuppy shirts that I think are really cute. As you can see the shop page has been replace with a Works in Progress page, now you can keep up with with what sculptures I'm working on currently and can leave comments and even suggestions on the WIP pages. I added the very first one, Odin's Runesong so check it out and give me some feedback. February 23, 2007- Bunch more changes, as you can see the site's name has had a slight change, it's now Noadi's Art instead of Noadi's Pixels. There's a brand new newsletter so please sign up, I'll be using it to send announcements of new art, events, and anythign else I think is interesting. Also there is now a google search on this page in case you have something specific you're looking for you can search this site. February 22, 2007- Comments are up and running, they can be found on all the art pages and all the onsite tutorials I've written. Newsletter is coming very soon. February 20, 2007- New tutorial, I put up the recipe for cold porcelain I use. Over the next few days I'm updating sections of my website adding more information about each piece of artwork. Sculpture is already completed, each page for a sculpture now contains information of materials, size, date, etc, the other sections will be coming soon. I'm also trying to set up a newsletter and comments on each page, I really want to be able to communicate more with everyone who visits. I'm also switching all my email over to my gmail account so if you want to email me you need to use the new address. February 10, 2007-Two brand new sculptures ready for your viewing pleasure. A mischevious looking satyr and an adorable octopuppy. My apologies to anyone who had trouble accessing the site a couple days ago, I was rearranging files to make keeping the site updated a little easier for me. February 3, 2007- I have two new tutorials up. One on making faux glass eyes which is lacking photos but those will be coming shortly, the other has actually been uploaded here for a while I just hadn't added it to the tutorial page it's a chart of eye sizes for many different species at several common scales for sculpture. February 1, 2007- I'm pretty thrilled by being the Froudian Artist of the month for February. No new art yet but I have a sculpture finished waiting to be properly photographed (you can check out a quick photo of my Octopuppy on my myspace page) and another sculpture being painted that should be finished soon. December 23, 2006- Happy Holidays everyone and as a holiday treat I have two new sculptures up. Also one of my sculptures the Fairy Priestess was recently sold at an art auction hosted by Telstar Middle School, the proceeds all went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. November 21, 2006- I've decided to start taking a limited amount of commissioned sculptures, no more than one or two per month depending on size. Full information on how to contact me about hiring me for a commission is in my FAQ and also on my MySpace profile. Also I'm going to put off uploading my lifedrawing sketches until the class finishes in December so I can group them all together. November 3, 2006- I added a new piece to sculptures, and I've started taking lifedrawing class again so I'll have some sketches from that soon too. Also I finally broke down and created a myspace account so it you are interested head over here, I'm going to try to use it to keep people up to date on my works in progress and hopefully auctions and other opportuniies to buy my work. August 2, 2006- Lots of new stuff. Two new sculptures and two new pieces in Traditional Media. I've also finally updated my blog with info on the art show and why it's taken so long to get it up. June 2, 2006- Sorry it's been so long since I updated, a lot has been going on in my life mainly my mom going through cancer treatment. She's finished her treatment now, feels good, and the doctors say she should be fine because it was caught early. I have 2 finished sculpture that are awaiting painting, that hopefully will be done and posted soon and I have a 3d modeling project I'm working on, in the meantime however head over the Traditional Media and check out my sketches from my life drawing class, life drawing involves a nude model so you are forewarned if that type of thing makes you uncomfortable. |
